FORESTVILLE, CALIFORNIA
I used footage of recording vocal takes and dancing in the room where I was living to make a commercial for the record “You Can if You Want to.” The song I’m excerpted here is called “Anna.”
TALENT, OREGON
My friend Kenny Taylor helped me make this commercial. I wanted an excuse to play baseball again. The song that plays is called “Yana Dee.” This was the fourth commercial in a series I made to promote the record “You Can if You Want to.”
PESCADERO, CALIFORNIA
This is Indianna Hale and Annie Laufman's recorded voices singing on a song that's a real life story. Indy was singing with the band FPODBPOD on the song "Sugar High, Sugar Low." It was a house party and the microphone was a telephone plugged into a speaker. I was struggling with inner goblins. So afterwards I elected to ride a skateboard down Balboa Street's steep hill to the ocean. I was terrible at it, crashed twice, and broke my collar bone.
Annie and Indy are in this movie with our friends Sterling and Brendan. The black and white picture is of the recording night in Forestville, CA.
